Video: On the Greaux crew replaces Bluff Road bridge girder

A new video shows the On the Greaux team is moving closer to the re-opening of the Bluff Road bridge with the replacement of a damaged girder.

The girder replacement operation took place at night to minimize daytime traffic interruptions on Interstate 10. The bridgework is part of the widening of I-10 from four to six lanes between Highland Road in Baton Rouge and La. 73 in Ascension Parish.

The Bluff Road (La. 928) bridge, which crosses I-10 between Bayou Manchac and La. 73, was closed to replace a girder that had been hit by a truck and because the bridge must be raised 9.5 inches to accommodate the interstate widening.

The bridge was closed to all traffic on May 29, and the On the Greaux team plans to reopen it by the beginning of school in Ascension Parish on August 6.

“On the Greaux” team reopens Bluff Road Bridge two weeks ahead of schedule

Update: Lane closures, July 16-20, 2018
