New On the Greaux video shows bridge demo work underway

June 20, 2019 - A new video shows the On the Greaux crew in full nighttime bridge demolition mode on Interstate 10 at Highland Road in Baton Rouge.

You can see the video here.

The westbound bridge above Highland Road is being removed to make way for a taller, wider bridge that is part of the project to widen I-10 to six lanes from Highland to La. 73 in Ascension Parish. Westbound traffic already has been shifted to a newly built segment of the new bridge to accommodate the demolition.

While the old bridge is being removed, Highland Road below the interstate is closed each night until July 8. Crews will then build the second of three segments of the new bridge, temporarily shift traffic to those new segments, and then remove the existing eastbound bridge.

The third segment of the new bridge – and the entire On the Greaux widening project - should be completed by mid-2020.
